The event is a 5K walk/run held on Saturday, September 26 at UMC Northeast Clinic, 9839 Kenworthy St, El Paso, TX 79924. It benefits the UMC Foundation’s Sobreviviendo el Cáncer program, which provides support to community members actively receiving cancer treatment. Funds raised support emotional, physical, and financial needs associated with a cancer diagnosis.
Registration includes a short-sleeve technical t-shirt for registrants and, new this year, finisher medals. The event features a competitive 5K run with trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers, age group awards across multiple divisions, a 1 Mile walk/run, a Kids Dash, and a Largest Team Trophy. Age group awards are organized in standard competitive bands including 9 and under through 70 and over.
Registration fees are listed as follows: Kids Dash $15; 5K and 1 Mile $25 through September 24; late registration $30 on September 25. No race day registration will be available. Teams of ten or more receive a $5 discount per participant; when the tenth team member registers the first nine receive a $5 refund and additional team members receive the discounted rate automatically.
Packet pickup locations are provided in advance, with early pickup at Up and Running, 3233 N. Mesa Ste. 205, and race day pickup at UMC Northeast Clinic.
