Eagle in the Sun Triathlon
Eagle in the Sun Triathlon takes place in El Paso, Texas at 6900 Delta on September 20, 2026. The event offers multiple multisport and running formats, including individual, relay, and youth options.
Event formats and primary distances:
- Individual Sprint: 400 m swim, 12 mi bike, 3.1 mi run
- Aquabike: 400 m swim, 12 mi bike
- Bike-Run: 12 mi bike, 3.1 mi run
- 5k Run/Walk: 3.1 mi run on the Playa Drain Trail
- 2-Person Relay: relay team format, price listed per team member
- 3-Person Relay: relay team format, price listed per team member
- Eagle Kids Splash & Dash: 100 m swim, 1 km run around Ascarate Park
Swim portions for the listed multisport events occur in a 50 meter pool. Road cycling uses a mostly flat 12 mile out and back course on Border Highway. The run course for relevant events follows the Playa Drain Trail.
The Individual Sprint, Aquabike, and Bike-Run entries are sold out. The first 600 participants receive a moisture wicking race shirt, athlete bag, water bottle, and swim cap. All participants receive post race snacks and drinks, chip timing, an interactive race day Expo, and finisher medals.
Packet pickup is scheduled the week before the event at specified locations in El Paso. Every athlete must pick up their own packet and must show photo proof of identity and a USAT membership card at pickup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
