Minnesota Mile
The Minnesota Mile is an annual one-mile road race held in Duluth, Minnesota, that follows a loop course beginning and ending near Enger Park Golf Course. The course measures 5,280 feet and showcases views of Duluth’s skyline and Lake Superior.
The event is organized by the Young Athletes Foundation and runs as part of a series of YAF races. For 2026, youth entries (18 and under) are offered free. The field is limited to 600 participants; registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. Race bibs are assigned at packet pickup, which is offered in the days before the race at the Grandma’s Marathon office and at Enger Park Golf Course.
To reduce congestion the Minnesota Mile is run in separate heats that group participants by pace and by recreational or competitive categories; runners choose their heat on race day and may run in only one heat. Post-race refreshments include water, bananas, and chips; reusable cups are used in the finish area and must be returned or disposed of in provided containers.
Team competition categories include All Female, All Male, Mixed, and Corporate with a minimum of three team members. Awards are given to top finishers in competitive and masters heats and to top finishers across age groups. A commemorative long-sleeve participant shirt is included with entry and commemorative socks are available for purchase. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
