NorthShore Marathon Weekend
The NorthShore event in Duluth, Minnesota, is a multi-discipline sports festival featuring inline skating, running, and rollerskiing. The event is recognized as a World Inline Cup PremiumClass race and serves as a meeting point for international professional skaters. The courses utilize a point-to-point route along the North Shore of Lake Superior, featuring smooth pavement and sections that are fully closed to vehicle traffic.
A notable feature of the course is the passage through the Duluth tunnels on a closed section of I-35. The finish line is located at the Duluth lakefront. Participants have several distance and discipline options:
- Marathon Skate: 26.2 miles
- Half Marathon Skate: 13.1 miles
- Tunnel 10k Skate: 6.2 miles
- Mike Lufholm Combined: 39.3 miles (Skate)
- Aspirus St. Luke's Half Marathon: 13.1 miles (Run)
- Finden Marketing Tunnel 10k: 6.2 miles (Run)
- Finnsisu Marathon Rollerski: 26.2 miles
- Marwe Half Marathon Rollerski: 13.1 miles
The weekend includes a health expo at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center on the Friday before the races, featuring over 70 vendors. Participants receive a finisher medal, a personalized race bib, a finisher shirt, and free entry into a local Oktoberfest event.
