MIA Runway 5K Series
The MIA Runway 5K Series is a set of runway races held at three Miami‑area airports in 2026. The series includes events at Miami Executive Airport (TMB), Miami‑Opa Locka Executive Airport (OPF), and Miami International Airport (MIA). The three events together are expected to draw over 5,500 participants and spectators.
Each event uses airport runways and aviation facilities. The MIA event takes place on runway 8L‑26R, an 8,600 foot runway, and is hosted at a 25,000 square foot American Airlines maintenance hangar adjacent to the runway. The OPF event is described as a night race and offers both 5K and 10K options. The TMB event is hosted at the Wings Over Miami Air Museum and is presented by Publix as part of the 2026 series.
The series is organized to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign.
