Kemp Mill (C)hills 5K/10K 2026 : overview
The event takes place on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Kemp Mill Elementary School in Silver Spring, MD (411 Sisson St). It offers two distance options:
- 5K
- 10K
The course runs through the neighborhood on open roads and loops back to the school. Runners may turn around early to complete the 5K or continue on for the 10K. Pre-race and post-race activities are held inside the school. Course maps are provided for both the 5K and the 10K.
Registration, fees and logistics
This race is part of a low-key race series. MCRRC members may participate free of charge but must sign up for a 2026 bib and chip. Members with older chips may exchange them; new members who do not have an older chip should bring a $5 chip deposit. Non-members pay a fee that includes registration and processing: $22 for participants 18 and over and $11.60 for participants under 18. Online registration remains open through the start of the race. Bib and chip pickup takes place on race morning near the start area. Monetary refunds are not provided to non-members, but registrations can be transferred to another low-key race.
