Mayor's Run for the Trails 5K + Kids Fun Run
The event takes place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Terra Park Amphitheater in Johnston, Iowa, with the Crown Point Community Center located at 6300 Pioneer Parkway serving as the packet pickup site.
Distances offered:
- 100 Meter kids fun run for ages 2-5
- 0.62 Mile kids run around the lake for ages 6-10
- 3.12 Mile Mayor's Run for the Trails 5K walk and run
Registration details differ by race. The 5K registration fee is listed at $30 plus a $2.80 sign-up fee and tax, and it increases to $40 plus fees after September 21, 2026; a t-shirt is included for registrations completed by September 21. Kids fun runs list a $15 fee plus a $1.90 sign-up fee and tax; youth shirts and medals are included for registrations completed by September 21. Children may also run the kids dashes on race day without advance registration, in which case t-shirts and medals are not provided.
Packet pickup is available the Friday before the event at Crown Point Community Center and on race morning at the venue. Finisher medals are provided and will be handed out at the finish; supplies may be limited. Bagels, water, and fruit will be available after the event. Photos will be taken during the event. Age-group prizes for 5K runners are awarded to males and females in these groups: 19 and under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60 and over.
