Monster Dash 5K & Lil' Monsters Fun Run
The Monster Dash 5K and Lil' Monsters Fun Run take place on 10/24/2026 at Raccoon River Park, 2500 Grand Ave, West Des Moines, Iowa. The event offers in-person and virtual participation and follows a Halloween theme.

The in-person 5K includes a pre-race costume contest, chip timing, free event photos, finisher medals, and Halloween themed shirts. There are costume awards as part of the event. A Lil' Monsters Kids Run is available for ages 10 and under; the kids run will be divided into multiple groups and distances based on participants' ages and sizes, with separate runs for big kids and little kids.
A virtual participation option is available for the 3.1 mile distance. Race materials for virtual participants will be sent the Monday prior to the event; registrations after that time may receive materials after the event.
Registration opens 8/27/2026. Fees listed by the organizer are $30.00 for the 5K Run/Walk, $12.00 for the Lil' Monsters Fun Run, and $40.00 for the virtual participant option.
