To Grandmother's House We Go
To Grandmother's House We Go is a fall trail race held at Brown's Woods in West Des Moines, Iowa. The event uses single and double track dirt trails and follows an outermost loop that totals 5K. Longer distances are achieved by repeating that loop: 10K participants complete two laps and 15K participants complete three laps.
Distances offered:
- 5K one lap of the outermost trail loop
- 10K two laps of the outermost trail loop
- 15K three laps of the outermost trail loop
Walkers may participate and are encouraged to register for one of the shorter races. The course will remain open for three hours during the event. Dogs are not permitted on the course due to insurance restrictions. Proceeds from the race are used to support Des Moines' dirt trail systems, the Stewards of Browns Woods, and the Capital Striders. Registration fees for the listed races are $40. Packet pickup details will be announced prior to the event.
