To Grandmother's House We Go
To Grandmother's House We Go is a fall trail running event at Brown's Woods in West Des Moines, Iowa. The course follows single and double track dirt trails and uses the outermost trail loop, which totals 5K. The route takes participants into forested sections of the preserve.
Distances offered:
- 5K one outer loop
- 10K two outer loops
- 15K three outer loops
Walkers may participate and shorter distances are recommended for walkers. The course will remain open for three hours. Dogs are not permitted on the course due to insurance restrictions.
Registration opens May 18, 2026 and closes October 2, 2026; the registration fee is $40.00. Packet pickup details will be announced. Proceeds from the event will be used to support Des Moines' dirt trail systems, the Stewards of Browns Woods, and the Capital Striders.
