Mary Cleary 5k
The Mary Cleary 5k is a community road race in Waterville that benefits the American Cancer Foundation and is listed as number 23 in the Route 20 Road Challenge Series. The course begins at the Fireman’s Field area, follows the library driveway and downtown streets, and finishes at the Waterville Public Library.
The published route follows these streets in sequence: up Madison Street, right on Terry Place, down Tower Street onto Main Street, left on Buell Avenue, right on West Bacon Street where a water station is located, across Route 12 onto East Bacon Street, then right on Elmwood Avenue and right on White Street to the library finish. Participants are asked to watch for traffic and may use sidewalks if preferred. Parking is available at the library and at the Fireman’s field.
Registration carries a fee of $25. WCS athletes may use the promo code WCSATHLETE to receive a five dollar discount. The first 75 registrants receive a unique 50/50 blend t shirt featuring artwork by a Waterville High School artist; additional shirts are distributed on a first come, first served basis.
