Jessica's Heroes 5k Run/Walk
This annual community 5K run/walk in Oneida, NY takes place at Allen Park and is held in memory of a local woman who died of breast cancer at age 34. The event raises funds to help people currently battling cancer who live in Madison or Oneida County or who are receiving treatment at the Oneida/Roswell Cancer Center or the Upstate Cancer Center in Verona. Organizers report that proceeds have helped more than 1,260 people to date.
The program includes an opening ceremony, a Kid's Fun Run for children 12 and under, a survivor ceremony that honors survivors and those who have battled cancer, and a basket raffle. Packet pickup will be conducted as a drive-thru; the pickup date is to be announced.
A virtual Mini Fun Run/Walk is offered for June through July, and a combined package called Hero Status bundles the virtual mini event with the in-person 5K for a single fee. Team registration and sponsorship page setup are available. To guarantee a free event T-shirt, registrants are asked to register by August 23, 2026.
