Brookfield Classic
The Brookfield Classic is a trail running event held in Brookfield, New York, inside the Charles E Baker State Forest on August 28, 2027. Participants choose from multiple distances that follow marked trails through forested terrain.
Distances
- 5k scenic trail around Woodland Pond.
- 15k loop on truck trails and horse trails.
- 50k ultra on truck and horse trails, broken into 3 or more loops.
Course details note that the 50k includes more than 4,800 feet of vertical gain and uses a multi‑lap format so runners can refuel each lap or stop safely if needed. At the end of each loop a race volunteer will record lap completion. There is a 9 hour cut off for the 50k. The 50k finish was updated to be at the start line, with the final lap routing back to the parking area. Current fastest known times listed are 23:42 for the 5k, 1:05:45 for the 15k, and 4:23 for the 50k.
Logistics include parking guidance and facilities. Parking GPS coordinates are 42.76563864242898, -75.3867952815479 and attendees are directed to approach via the Giles Road and Brown Road intersection in West Edmeston because some GPS routing may be incorrect. Two porta potties will be in the parking lot and one on Brown Road near horse trail 54. Food will be on site for runners. Trail conditions vary; trail running shoes or hiking boots are recommended and a change of shoes and socks is suggested. Registration fees are listed as $25 for the 5k and $55 for the 15k and 50k.
