Event Overview
The Martinsburg Sprint & Super Sprint is a multisport event taking place on July 18, 2026. The event is held at War Memorial Park in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Disciplines and Distances
The event offers several formats:
- Super Sprint Triathlon: A swim of 150 yards in a 25-yard outdoor pool, a 6-mile bike ride, and a 2.5K run.
- Sprint Triathlon: A swim of 300 yards in a 25-yard outdoor pool, a 12-mile bike ride, and a 5K run.
- Duathlon (Sprint Distance): A run-bike-run format.
- Aquabike (Sprint Distance): A swim-bike format.
- Relay Sprint Triathlon: Teams can participate in the Sprint Triathlon.
All swims use a time-trial, in-water start from the shallow end of the pool, and participants complete a "snake swim" pattern. Flip turns are not allowed. The bike course is not closed to vehicle traffic, but police and course marshals will be present. Participants are responsible for counting their own laps.
Registration and Logistics
Registration is open for participants aged 15 and over. Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race at War Memorial Park or on race morning. A pre-race talk is scheduled for Friday evening to provide course information.
All participants receive a finisher medal. Awards are given for top finishers by gender and within age groups for the Sprint and Super Sprint triathlons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
