Lock 2 Lock Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K : Williamsport, MD
The Lock 2 Lock Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, entirely along the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal towpath in Williamsport, Maryland. The start and finish area is located at Lock 44; parking at Lock 44 is very limited.
Distances
- Marathon : out and back loop to Lock 43, completed twice.
- Half Marathon : out and back loop to Lock 43, completed once.
- 10K : out and back 3.1 mile loop from Lock 44.
The marathon course is certified (MD22006NP) and is listed as a Boston qualifier; 2026 finish times can be used for 2027 qualification. Course elevation limits are provided for each distance: no more than 40 feet for the marathon, 20 feet for the half marathon, and 10 feet for the 10K.
Aid stations are placed at multiple mile markers and at the finish. Stations are stocked with water, Gatorade Endurance, pickle juice, potato chips and other snacks; a tarp is provided at the start/finish for leaving gels or bottles. Packet pickup is available at Elite Performance Institute, at Cushwa Brewing Company, and on race morning at Lock 44. Parking is directed to Cushwa Basin or Williamsport Park lots. Portable toilets are located at the Lock 44 parking area and at Mile 4 on the towpath.
All finishers receive a race T shirt and a custom medal. Awards include overall top three male and female, masters awards, and age group awards for the marathon and half marathon. A Distinguished Participant status is offered for runners completing five of seven 2Lowe Run Company events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
