Lock 2 Lock Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K
The event takes place on Saturday, September 11, 2027, entirely along the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Towpath in Williamsport, Maryland. The start and finish area is located at Lock 44. The course is certified (MD22006NP) and 2027 race times can be used for 2028 qualifying.

- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
- 10K (6.2 Miles)
All races follow out-and-back routing on the towpath. Marathon runners complete a 6.56-mile out-and-back loop twice; half marathon runners complete the same loop once. The 10K follows a 3.1-mile out-and-back segment toward Washington D.C. Course elevation maxima are provided for each distance: marathon no more than 40 feet, half marathon no more than 20 feet, and 10K no more than 10 feet.
Aid stations are placed along the courses at specified mile markers. Stations are stocked with water, Gatorade Endurance, pickle juice, potato chips, and other TBD snacks. For the marathon there is a tarp at the start/finish area for small race-day items.
Registration opens 1 January 2027 and closes 3 February 2027. Listed registration fees are $80.00 for the marathon, $60.00 for the half marathon, and $45.00 for the 10K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
