Othello Park Labor Day 1K/5K
The event takes place on September 7, 2026 at Othello Regional Park, 1901A Jefferson Pike, Knoxville, MD 21758. It is organized as a nonprofit community race with proceeds and sponsorship funds directed to the Brunswick High School Track and Field Program to replace damaged and aging equipment. Event operations are managed by volunteers and funds first cover race expenses before being passed on to the school program.
Distances and entry details:
- 1K fun run for children 13 and under, entry fee $10
- 5K race on mixed paved paths and grassy equestrian trails, $30 through July 31
The 1K fun run is intended for children aged 13 and under; those participants receive a custom finisher medal. For the 5K, paid entries registered by August 1 are guaranteed a finisher medal and registered participants by that date are eligible for a race shirt; custom shirts cost $10 and have the same cutoff date. Registrations after August 1 are not guaranteed a medal.
The 5K course combines paved paths and grassy equestrian trails within Othello Regional Park, described as a rolling course outside Brunswick. Awards for the 5K include trophies for first place boys and girls 18 and under and first place men and women 19 and over. On-site registration is available on race day.
