Othello Park Labor Day 1K/5K
The Othello Park Labor Day 1K/5K takes place in Knoxville, Maryland, at Othello Regional Park. This non-profit athletic event is organized by volunteers to support local school programs, including elementary school parent-teacher associations and the high school track and field program. The race is held on Labor Day and features two distinct distances:
- 1K
- 5K
The 1K distance is intended for children aged 13 and under. This course is primarily paved with a different surface at the finish line. All participants who complete this distance receive a custom designed finisher medal.
The 5K course is a hybrid road and cross-country route. It utilizes the paved paths and grassy equestrian trails within the park. The terrain is described as rolling and scenic, passing through areas just outside of Brunswick. Participants who register by the early August deadline are guaranteed a custom finisher medal and have the option to purchase a race shirt.
Following the conclusion of the event, awards are presented near the finish line. Trophies are given to the first-place finishers in two age categories: 18 and under, and 19 and over, for both male and female divisions.
