Tails on Trails 5K Run/Walk
Tails on Trails is the second annual 5K at Cacapon State Park in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, held to benefit the Humane Society of Morgan County. The event includes in-person run and walk options plus a virtual participant category.
The route uses the high school cross-country course and begins with a gentle incline near the Lodge. The course winds through forested terrain, passes the upper lake, and returns to the start. The organizer notes fall views along the route.
New for this year are a revised course, an awards ceremony, and a free pup swim in the lake after the event. The event accepts runners, walkers, and leashed dogs on the course. Registration opens April 12, 2026 and closes September 11, 2026. Registration fees are $35.00 for the in-person run and walk and $30.00 for virtual participation.
