Tails on Trails 5K Run/Walk
The second annual Tails on Trails 5K is held at Cacapon State Park to support the Humane Society of Morgan County. The event offers in person and virtual participation and takes place on park and cross country terrain near the Lodge and upper lake.
Distances include:
- 3.1 Miles (Tails on Trails 5K RUN in person)
- 3.1 Miles (Tails on Trails 5K WALK in person)
- 3.1 Miles (Virtual Participant option)
The event features a new course layout, an awards ceremony, and a free pup swim in the lake after the race. The route follows the High School official cross country course, beginning with a gentle incline near the Lodge, winding through forested terrain, passing the upper lake, and returning to the start. Fall foliage and wooded scenery are part of the course profile.
Registration options include advance registration and day of onsite registration. Registration fees are $40 for the in person run or walk, $30 for virtual participants, and $50 for day of onsite entries. T shirts may not be available.
