Tails on Trails 5K Run/Walk
This is the second annual 5K at Cacapon State Park held to benefit the Humane Society of Morgan County. The event offers in-person running and walking options plus a virtual participation choice. Registration opens April 19 and closes September 11; fees differ for in-person and virtual entries.
The route follows the high school’s official cross-country course through wooded terrain. The course begins with a gentle incline near the lodge, winds through forested areas with fall views, passes the upper lake, and returns to the start. An awards ceremony is planned after the race, and a free pup swim in the lake will be available following the event.
The event is presented as suitable for runners, walkers, and four-legged companions. Volunteers are needed. The venue is at Cacapon State Park, 818 Cacapon Lodge Drive, Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.
