Manchester SwimRun
The Manchester SwimRun event was scheduled to take place at Chorlton Water Park, Maitland Avenue, M21 7WH, but the planned event on Sunday 17th August was cancelled because of a blue green algae outbreak at the venue.
The format combines open water swims within the lake and trail runs on paths around Chorlton Water Park. The published overall distances are 1,500 m of swimming and 10.5 km of running, broken into three swim and three run legs.
- Swim One 325 m, Run One 2.5 km
- Swim Two 750 m, Run Two 5 km
- Swim Three 350 m, Run Three 2.5 km
Entry fees listed were Adults £50 and Relays for a team of two £70. Parking was noted at Chorlton Water Park. Facilities at the venue are basic changing and toilets.
The event guidance described a common start and finish point for each swim so shoes can be left on land or worn while swimming. Competitors were asked to leave compulsory water bottles at transition where they would be passed during the race. Timing was manual; finishing time and position would be provided and split times would need to be recorded by participants if required.
Included items previously listed were a medal, an Uswim goody, and trophies for top finishers and the first relay team. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
