Kinder Downfall
The Kinder Downfall is a fell race held in the Hayfield area of Derbyshire. The course covers a distance of 9.6 miles (approximately 15.4 km) and includes 1970 feet (approximately 600 meters) of ascent. The event is held under the regulations of the Fell Runners Association (FRA).
Registration takes place at the Scout Hut, with the race starting approximately five minutes away at the Hayfield Village Centre bridge crossing. The route takes participants through the local hills and includes a section near Kinder Low. Detailed route information, including a race assessment matrix and map, is provided by the organizer to assist runners with navigation and preparation.
Participation is limited to runners aged 18 and over. The event has a strict entry limit of 300 participants. Attendance is through online pre-registration only, and no entries are accepted on the day of the event.
This race is also a featured event in the Hayfield Championship series. Within the championship scoring system, the Kinder Downfall is classified as a medium-length race.
