Bleaklow Blitz

The Bleaklow Blitz is a Category AM fell race organized by the Start2Jog Running Club. The event takes place at Torside Car Park and follows a route that highlights the natural terrain of the area. Participants must be at least 18 years old on the day of the event to compete.

The race covers a total distance of 12.9 km (8 miles) and involves a total ascent of 452 m (1483 ft). The course begins at Torside Reservoir and leads runners up the Pennine Way. The path continues all the way to Bleaklow Head, where the route performs a loop before returning back down the Pennine Way to the finish.

Participants can expect varied terrain including significant climbs. The course records are held by Joe Oldfield (01:00:40) for the male category and Kate Walshaw (01:10:46) for the female category. Registration fees are structured with a discount for FRA members compared to non members.
