MammothMarch Hudson Valley
MammothMarch Hudson Valley takes place on September 26, 2026, at Harriman State Park with the start and finish at Lake Welch Beach. The event features a single-circuit loop covering 20 miles with a total elevation gain of around 2,900 ft and an expected completion window of about eight hours. There is no timekeeping; all participants who complete the distance receive a finisher medal and a certificate. Participants who stop early receive a certificate stating the mileage covered.
The route passes along established trails and areas in the park, including the Long Path, Beech Trail, Red Cross Trail, Arden Surebridge Trail, and Suffern Bear Mountain. Terrain includes paved and unpaved hiking trails, dirt trails, gravel roads, and forest floor. Aid and refreshment stations are placed approximately every 5 to 7 miles and provide toilets, food, and drinks such as water, energy drinks, electrolytes, fruit, cereal and protein bars, and PBJ sandwiches; these refreshments are included with the ticket. There will be cut-off points at aid stations for safety.
Complimentary parking is available on site. Merchandise ordered through the event store will be available for pick up on event day, while items ordered through the official online shop may be shipped. A travel partner has secured a limited number of discounted rooms near the venue. MammothMarch Hiking Passes will be available for new participants; returning participants should bring their passes to collect 2026 stamps.
The final route is released about two weeks before the event, and the course will be marked one to two days before the event. Organizers may adjust the route if parts become inaccessible or unsafe due to weather or other local conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
