Lymm Runners Dickensian Santa Dash
The Lymm Runners Santa Dash takes place during Lymm Dickensian Day on 12.12.2026 and is now in its tenth year. The event leads the Dickensian Day procession, with the start outside Brookfield Surgery on the canal bridge, proceeding down Eagle Brow and through the heart of the village. The finish is at Sow Brook where finishers receive a souvenir.
The event is organised as a fun run rather than a timed race. Entry is open to fun runners aged 8 and over who are capable of completing the course. A red and white Santa suit is provided as part of the entry fee so participants are dressed for the procession. Organisers report around 200 Santas and thousands of onlookers lining the pavements during the celebration.
There are two course options:
- 5 km Fun Run
- About 4.3 km Santa Stride walking route
The Santa Stride is a shorter route for power walkers and follows the main start and finish but omits the loop around Reddish Lane. A map of the run route is available on MapMyRun. Further information and practical instructions are sent to entrants about three weeks before the event.
The club also runs weekly Power Walking sessions on Thursday evenings throughout the year. Lymm Runners use the Santa Dash to support local primary schools by donating sports equipment and junior running kits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
