About the race
The Greater Manchester 200 is a single-stage, continuous 200 mile ultramarathon on the GM Ringway in Greater Manchester, scheduled for 21st to 25th November 2026. The route lists total elevation gain of 5545 m, is limited to 150 places and has an overall event cut-off of 96 hours. The event uses live online tracking via GB Race Tracker and is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules; ITRA and UTMB mountain performance index points are to be confirmed.
The route passes through multiple checkpoints provided by GB Ultras (ten in total), with staffed aid stations offering drinks, vegan and vegetarian food options, hot meals at some village-hall locations and medical cover. Dropbags are allowed at CP3 (57 miles), CP5 (99 miles), CP8 (156 miles) and the finish; maximum dropbag dimensions are 56 x 45 x 25 cm and 7 kg. The start/finish venue is Imperial War Museum North / MediaCity Salford Quays.
Entrants must be at least 20 years old, have documented endurance or ultrarunning experience (solo training runs alone do not qualify) and be competent in self-navigation; applications are reviewed and places confirmed by the organiser. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and is subject to random checks; required items include a watch or GPS with the race GPX, waterproof coat and trousers with sealed seams, battery pack (min 5,000 mAh), 1 L water capacity, headtorch (min 100 lumens) plus backup light (min 50 lumens), whistle, survival bag and at least 500 kcal emergency food. A GB Race Tracker device is provided at registration. Pacers and support runners are not permitted; supporter access is restricted and rules apply to vehicle attendance and behaviour.
