Lyme WNY 5K
The Lyme WNY 5K is an annual community event held in Orchard Park, New York. The 3rd annual edition of this race takes place on Sunday, May 31, 2026. The primary goal of the event is to raise awareness for Lyme disease prevention and local support resources. All proceeds are directed to Lyme WNY to provide grants for individuals requiring financial assistance for Lyme treatment.
The event features a single distance for participants:
- 5 km Run/Walk
The course starts and finishes at the Wayland Brewery and is officially USATF certified. For the convenience of the participants, there is one water station located near the midpoint of the route, and bottled water is provided at the finish line. Professional timing services use Jaguar Electronic RFID technology to provide real-time results and finisher certificates.
A post-race celebration at the brewery includes live music and a basket raffle. Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners, top masters (40+), and the top three finishers in five-year age groups up through 80+. There is also a special award for the largest registered team. Participants who register by the mid-May deadline receive an official event shirt.
