Lyke Wake Walk - E-W (guided/Supported)

The Lyke Wake Walk was created in 1955 to cross the North York Moors at its widest and highest points. The route runs between Scarth Wood Moor near Osmotherley and Ravenscar on the North Sea coast, across roughly 40 miles of moorland in the national park. The guided route offered here is just under 39 miles and the traditional challenge is to travel from one marker to the opposite within a maximum of 24 hours; groups on this guided crossing generally take 15 to 18 hours.

This is a guided and supported crossing with two guides per group so walkers can be split by pace. Open group crossings have a maximum of 14 walkers and typically 10 to 12. Organisers provide a full kit list and a training schedule, a WhatsApp group for each date, and free guided training walks on nearby terrain. Support on the day includes water, unlimited sugar-based snacks, blister plasters, checkpoints and a small end-of-walk gift. Transport is arranged to the opposite end of the route so the group walks back along the Lyke Wake line. Private group bookings are available and the organiser accepts bookings through multiple platforms.

Entry fee for these guided dates is £140 per person with a £70 non-refundable deposit; the remaining balance is due eight weeks before the walk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
