Lyke Wake Walk - E-W (guided/Supported)

The event is a guided and supported crossing of the North York Moors designed to run between Scarth Wood Moor, Osmotherley and Ravenscar on the North Sea coast. The route is just under 39 miles and is based on a traditional 24 hour challenge with no set line of travel between markers. Groups generally take 15 to 18 hours to complete the crossing.

Crossings are led by two guides so groups can be split according to pace. Open group crossings have a maximum of 14 walkers and are typically 10 to 12. The organisers provide transfer by minibus to the start point and maintain checkpoints and backup support during the walk.

Practical arrangements include a full kit list and a training schedule, a WhatsApp group for each date where training tips are shared, and free guided training walks on local moorland and coast paths. Provision on the day includes supplied water, sugar based snacks and blister plasters, and a small gift at the end of the walk. Entry fees are stated per person with a non refundable deposit and a remaining balance due eight weeks before the event. Bookings may be taken via multiple platforms and group members can be visible in the event WhatsApp group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
