Living History Farms Race
The Living History Farms Race is an off road running event held at Living History Farms in Urbandale, Iowa. The course runs through rural landscapes and three historic farm sites. It starts and ends in the 1876 town of Walnut Hill and follows woodland trails, fields, and stream crossings. Animals on the course include horses, cows, sheep, and pigs.
The primary race distance is a 5 Mile course. All participants must be 14 years old on race day. Finishers receive a race shirt and a cowbell medal. A free kids run is offered with advance registration requested.
Packet pickup is scheduled on two dates before the race at local locations: at Fleet Feet Des Moines and at Living History Farms. Runners and spectators should enter the grounds from Hickman Road. Parking is available on paved lots with overflow parking on the grass. Construction on Interstate 80/35 may increase travel time.
