Lincoln-Way Foundation Half Marathon and 10K
The Lincoln-Way Foundation Half Marathon and 10K is an annual community event scheduled for May 2, 2026. This marks the 10th edition of the race, which serves as a fundraiser for the Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Foundation. Proceeds from the event are used to support student scholarships and grants for educational enhancements.
Participants can choose between two main distances:
- Half Marathon, which features a USATF-certified course
- 10K
Both races take place on a fully paved, handicap-accessible course that starts in downtown Frankfort at Breidert Green. Due to safety and course regulations, dogs, strollers, bicycles, and rollerblades are not permitted on the route. The event organizers provide several support services for runners, including multiple water and aid stations along the course, a secure gear check area at the Breidert Green building, and refreshments at the finish line.
Registration includes an official race packet, a race shirt, and an event medal. Scoring for age group categories is determined by chip time. Trophies are awarded to the top overall male and female finishers for both the half marathon and the 10K. Parking is available in downtown Frankfort near White Street and the intersection of Oak and Elwood streets.
The event follows specific safety protocols regarding weather. The race will not commence if lightning is detected within six miles of the site or course within 30 minutes of the scheduled start. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
