Celebrating its 16th year, the Lighthouse 5k Series offers a 5k and a 1 Mile race at Corolla's Whalehead Club. The scenic course tours historic Northern Outer Banks attractions, and every participant receives a shirt and finisher medal.

Lighthouse 5k Series

The Lighthouse 5k Series is in its 16th year. The event includes a 5k and a 1 Mile distance.

The event takes place at The Whalehead Club, located at 1100 Club Road in Corolla, North Carolina, within Historic Corolla Park. Onsite parking and restrooms are available.

Walk-up registration and pre-registered packet pickup and check-in are available on the race morning. All entries include an event t-shirt, a finisher medallion, and chip timing. The event is sponsored by Brindley Beach Vacations and tours historic attractions of the Northern beaches of the Outer Banks.

The course goes through the Historic Village of Corolla Light, with sights including the WhaleHead Club, Corolla Light, and the Currituck Beach Lighthouse. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers, the first place male and female masters (over 40), and the first place male and female youth (14 and under).

Service dogs are allowed; other pets are not. The event is walker and stroller friendly. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
