Lighthouse 5k Series September 2, 2026

The Lighthouse 5k Series marks its 16th annual running in Corolla, North Carolina. This event takes place at the Whalehead Club within the Historic Corolla Park. Participants can choose between two distances:

The course traverses the Historic Village of Corolla Light and the Northern beaches of the Outer Banks. Runners and walkers pass several local landmarks, including the Whalehead Club, Corolla Light, and the Currituck Beach Lighthouse. The race start and finish lines are positioned in front of the historic mansion at the Whalehead Club.

The event is open to runners and walkers, and the course is stroller-friendly. Registration includes a variety of amenities for all participants, such as a themed t-shirt, a unique finisher medallion, and professional chip timing. Onsite facilities at Historic Corolla Park include parking and restrooms. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as winners in the Masters (over 40) and Youth (14 and under) categories.
