The Corolla Ten Miler & 5K
The Corolla Ten Miler & 5K is an inaugural running event held at Historic Corolla Park on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The course follows a scenic route through coastal environments, passing the Currituck Beach Lighthouse and traveling through local neighborhoods. A notable feature of the route is a section along the beach where wild horses are known to roam.
The event offers two distinct distances:
- 10 miles: A flat course open to participants aged 14 and older.
- 5K: A shorter run or walk on scenic roads and packed beach trails, open to ages 7 and older.
The courses are designed to be flat and fast, utilizing both paved roads and sections of beach trails. High-technical features include chip timing for all participants. Water stations are positioned along the route to provide hydration.
The event concludes with an after-party featuring music, food, and craft vendors. Participants receive race swag as part of their registration. The race is located at 1100 Club Road, Corolla, and serves as a fall destination event in a popular beach setting. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
