Northern Outer Banks Salt & Sound Run/Walk
The event takes place at the Currituck County Rural Center in Powells Point, North Carolina, at 184 Milburn Sawyer Road. It includes multiple timed running and walking distances and a short community program after the races.

- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Miler
Courses run along the edge of the Currituck Sound and use boardwalks, water thoroughfares and sections that pass ponds, horse corrals and the kayak trail. Surfaces vary, so the routes are scenic but not designed for the fastest times. Courses are marked and use chip timing. Water stations and restrooms will be available on site.
Registration opens February 10, 2026 and closes July 9, 2026. Fees listed for the organized events are $40.00 for the 10K, $30.00 for the 5K and $15.00 for the 1 Miler. All finishers receive a race medal and the first 150 registrants receive a race t-shirt.
Awards are given by overall and age divisions for the 10K and 5K, with specific military and age trophies noted for the 10K. The 1 Miler and a wheelchair division also have top finishers recognized. The event supports several local organizations and includes a pancake breakfast, booths and an awards presentation after the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
