This event is a Thanksgiving Day 5k and 1-mile fun run held in Corolla, North Carolina. The race starts and finishes at the Whalehead Club.

Event Details
The event includes chip timing and a water stop is provided at the halfway point of the 5k course. The event organization provides a bicycle lead, course marshals, and turn arrows. Participation is open to runners, walkers, wheel chair participants, and stroller/jogger participants, with service dogs only permitted.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the event collects canned goods and non-perishable food items for the local food bank.
Registration & Fees
Field limits are set at 500 participants for the 5k/1 Mile combined and 50 for the Fun Run.
Registration includes a long sleeve cotton t-shirt, a unique finisher medal, chip timing, and a post-race light breakfast and snacks.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers, the top three overall Masters (over 40) male and female, and first place in each age group at five-year increments.
Fees are:
- Adults: $50
- Military: $45
- 17 and under: $45
- Fun Run (10 & Under 1/4 Mile): $30
Schedule & Location
Pre-race day packet pick-up and late registration is available the day before the race from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM at The GYM in Kitty Hawk. On race day, late check-in is available on-site at the start/finish line from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM.
The race takes place on Thursday, November 26, 2026. The 1-mile fun run starts at 8:00 AM, followed by the 5k race start at 8:15 AM. A post-race hospitality and awards period is scheduled from 8:50 AM to 9:30 AM. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
