Lighthouse 5k Series
This event is the 16th annual running of the Lighthouse 5k Series. It is held at the Whalehead Club in Historic Corolla Park in Corolla, North Carolina. The event includes two race distances: a 5k and a 1 mile run.
The race start and finish line is in front of the historic mansion at the Whalehead Club. The course tours the historic attractions of the northern beaches of the Outer Banks, passing by the Whalehead Club, the Corolla Light resort, and the Currituck Beach Lighthouse. Registration is open to all ages, with a fee of $45 for adults and $40 for youth aged 17 and under. All entries include an event t-shirt, a finisher medallion, and chip timing.
Walk-up registration and packet pickup is available on race morning. There is plenty of parking and restrooms are located on-site. The event is described as family-friendly and walker- and stroller-friendly. Service dogs are allowed, but no other pets. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers, the first male and female masters (over 40), and the first male and female youth (14 and under).
