Event Overview
The Lighthouse 5k Series is an annual running event held at The Whalehead Club in Corolla, North Carolina. The 2026 edition marks the 16th year of this race series, which takes place in the Historic Corolla Park. The event includes two primary distances:
- 5k
- 1 Mile
The course traverses the Historic Village of Corolla Light, offering views of several local landmarks. Participants pass by the Historic Mansion at The Whalehead Club, Corolla Light, and the Currituck Beach Lighthouse. The event is open to runners and walkers, and the course is stroller friendly. Service dogs are permitted, but no other pets may join the race.
Participant Information
All registered participants receive an event t-shirt and a finisher medallion. The races are chip-timed for accuracy. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as the first-place male and female finishers in the Masters (over 40) and Youth (14 and under) categories.
The venue at 1100 Club Road provides onsite parking and restroom facilities. Walk-up registration and packet pickup are available at the start line on the morning of the event.
