Event overview

The Lighthouse 5k Series on August 19, 2026 is the 16th annual running of this community race series in Corolla, North Carolina. The event includes two distances:

The series is presented by Brindley Beach Vacations and stages a run/walk through the Historic Village of Corolla Light, with the course passing the WhaleHead Club, Corolla Light, and the Currituck Beach Lighthouse. All entries include an event t-shirt, a finisher medallion, and chip timing. The event is walker and stroller friendly, and service dogs are allowed; other pets are not permitted.

Location, logistics and awards

The race start and finish are in front of the Historic Mansion at The Whalehead Club, 1100 Club Road, Corolla, NC 27927. Onsite parking and restrooms are available. Walk-up registration and pre-registered packet pickup and check-in are offered on race morning at the start line. The event states that each race supports local charities.
