Event Details

The Lighthouse 5k Series is a running event taking place at The Whalehead Club in Historic Corolla Park, Corolla, North Carolina. The 2026 date marks its 16th annual running.

Distances

The event offers two race distances:

Registration and Check-In

Registration is priced at $45 for adults and $40 for youth aged 17 and under. Walk-up registration and packet pickup for pre-registered participants is available on race morning at the start line from 6:50 AM to 7:50 AM.

Venue and Amenities

The race starts and finishes in front of the historic mansion at The Whalehead Club. The venue offers plenty of parking and has restrooms onsite. The course passes by historic attractions in the Northern Outer Banks, including the WhaleHead Club, Corolla Light, and the Currituck Beach Lighthouse.

Participant Perks and Awards

All entries include an event t-shirt, a finisher medallion, and chip timing. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers, the first-place male and female Masters (over 40), and the first-place male and female Youth (14 and under).
