Lifescape 4th of July Classic Run-Walk
The Lifescape 4th of July Classic Run-Walk is an Independence Day tradition held in downtown Rockford. The event serves as a fundraiser to support Lifescape's programs for older adults and individuals with disabilities. All races start and finish on Madison Street near the Rockford Trolley Station, specifically on N. Water Street in front of the Riverview Ice House.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- 8k Run
- 2 Mile Run
- 1 Mile Family Fun Walk
The 8k and 2 Mile events are part of the Rockford Road Runners Circuit Series. Specific categories are available for participants aged 13 and under in all three distances. All participants receive race swag including a finisher medal and a t-shirt. Registration must be completed in advance, as race day registration is not available.
Following the event, participants can attend a post-run pancake breakfast at the Downtown Rockford City Pavilion. Awards are provided for the overall fastest times in the 8k and 2 Mile categories for both male and female runners, as well as for Masters participants. All proceeds from the event assist regional services such as Meals on Wheels, transportation, and health and wellness programs for the community.
