Lifescape 4th of July Classic Run

Event
The Lifescape 4th of July Classic Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in downtown Rockford. All races start and finish on Madison Street near the Rockford Trolley Station. The program includes these distances:
- 8k Run (4.97 miles) and 8k Run for kids 13 and under
- 2 Mile Run and 2 Mile Run for kids 13 and under
- 1 Mile Family Fun Walk and 1 Mile Family Fun Walk for kids 13 and under
The 2-mile and 8k races are part of the Rockford Road Runners Circuit Series.
Logistics and extras
Registration deadlines and notes: general registration ends July 3, 2026; some kid registrations close July 3 at 10:00pm. T-shirt sizes are not guaranteed after June 5. Early bird pricing applies through the end of April 2026. Packet pickup dates will be determined in early 2026. Race day registration is not available. Event prices vary by event, for example the 8k and 2-mile show a price range of $15 to $30, the 1-mile walk is listed at $15, and the kids 1-mile at $10.
All participants receive race swag, including finisher medals and event T-shirts, and a post-race pancake breakfast is offered at the Downtown Rockford City Pavilion.
Prizes and beneficiaries
Overall first-place cash prizes of $100 are listed for male and female winners in both the 8k and the 2-mile. Cash prizes will be mailed after the event. Student athletes may not accept cash prizes without affecting eligibility.
Proceeds benefit Lifescape programs and services for older adults and adults with disabilities, including Meals on Wheels, Adult Protective Services, the Adult Day Program, Transportation Services, Senior Choice Information & Assistance, Senior Mental Health and Health & Wellness Services, AmeriCorps Seniors, and Comprehensive Care Coordination.
