Turkey Trot 5K Presented by Byron Bank
The event takes place on 11/26/2026 at the Byron PE Center, 500 N. Colfax St., Byron, IL 61010. The main distance is 5K and the course begins and ends inside the PE Center. The route uses a combination of paved trail and grass surfaces.
Chip timing will be provided by J3 Timing. Custom race shirts are guaranteed to participants who register by Monday, November 3 at 12:00 pm. Pre-registration packet pick-up is scheduled for 11/26 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at the Byron PE Center. Day-of registration and race-day check-in is available from 7:00 to 7:45 am and on-site registration is allowed after online registration closes.
Awards and prizes include random pie giveaways for participants in attendance and a Best Dressed Golden Turkey award with a special prize for the winner or winners. Plaques will be given to the overall male and female finishers. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age division: 0-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65-74, and 75+.
Registration fees vary by period: $30 adult / $20 youth through 11/3; $37 adult / $27 youth from 11/4 through 11/26; race day fees listed as $44 adult / $34 youth.
