The Leighton 10 2026
The Leighton 10 is the 44th edition of a measured 10 mile road race held within the grounds of Ascott House in Wing, near Leighton Buzzard LU7 0PR. Race headquarters are in the cricket pavilion of the National Trust property; the house itself will not be open to visitors. Ascott House operates a strict no dogs policy for grounds and car parks.
The event is chip timed and offers prizes for the first three men and women, age-group awards, and a team competition scored on the placing of the fourth runner of a four person team that must include at least one woman. There is a baggage storage area where runners should attach a label with their race number; the organisers are not liable for lost property. Toilets are available in the race HQ. Refreshments will be available to purchase and first aid will be on site. A sports massage service will be provided free of charge.
The start is on Well Lane about 0.8 miles from the HQ and the first 100 metres are on grass in a farmer's field. The course is open to traffic except for short stretches; marshals will be positioned at junctions but will not stop traffic. Runners should remain on the left until 8.5 miles, then be crossed to the right for approximately half a mile through the Ledburn 30 mph zone. In-ear headphones are not permitted under UK Athletics competition rules. Water stations are provided at approximately 2.5, 4.5, 6.7, 8.7 miles and at the finish.
Results and photographs will be published after the event. The race holds permit number 31057 and counts as a Bedfordshire County Championships event for eligible athletes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
