About the race
Darkwood Demon is a 6.0-mile trail race set in the Colne Valley near Slaithwaite, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. The course weaves through towpaths, bridleways, moorland and woodland, delivering spectacular valley views and a challenging climb up Slaithwaite Moor to Cupwith, followed by a fast descent to the finish at Zapato Brewery for refreshments. It is predominantly trail running (about 85% trail, 15% road) with a hilly profile, fully marshalled and waymarked, and chip-timed.
Facilities include water, toilets and on-site parking at the race HQ. Prizes include trophies for the first man and woman, top-3 prizes, and spot prizes. Organised by Slaithwaite Striders RC; open to runners aged 16 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
