Essex Walker
The Essex Walker is a countryside walking event based at Blackmore Village Hall, CM4 0QR in Essex. The main route is a 26 miles figure of 8 that follows footpaths and bridleways through the Essex countryside via Fryerning, Wyatts Green, and Mountnessing. The event forms part of the Essex and Herts Triple Challenge.

- 26 miles figure of 8 course starting at Blackmore
- 18 miles follows the first loop plus three miles
The long route has two checkpoints while the short route has one checkpoint. Entry includes hot and cold drinks at the start, snacks and sandwiches at checkpoints, and a meal at the finish. A certificate is provided to all finishers.
Entries open Wednesday 1st July 2026 and close Sunday 18th October 2026 or earlier if the entry limit of 200 is reached. Entry fees are listed as £15 for LDWA members and £22 for non members. Entries are not transferable and there are no on the day entries. Refunds are not given after Saturday 17th October 2026 unless the event is cancelled.
Participants must be at least 16 years old. Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Dogs are not permitted and all entrants are asked to bring a mug. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
