Essex Walker

Essex Walker is a long-distance walking event based at Blackmore Village Hall, Essex. The main route is a 26 mile figure of 8 using footpaths and bridleways through the Essex countryside via Fryerning, Wyatts Green and Mountnessing. The event forms part of the Essex and Herts Triple Challenge.

• 18 miles follows the first loop plus 3 miles

The long route includes three checkpoints. The shorter route has a checkpoint at about 9 miles. Costs include hot and cold drinks at the start, snacks and sandwiches at checkpoints, and a meal at the finish. A certificate is provided to all finishers.

Entry is limited to 200 participants. Entries open 1 July 2026 and close 18 October 2026 or earlier if the limit is reached. Entry fees are £15 for LDWA members and £22 for non members. Minimum age is 16; under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. No dogs are permitted. Entrants are asked to bring a mug. Entries are not transferable, there are no entries on the day, and no refunds after 17 October 2026 unless the event is cancelled. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
