Course and logistics

The course starts and finishes at Bishop's Stortford Running Club (Hockerill Sports and Social Club, Beldams Lane, Bishop's Stortford, CM23 5LG). The surface is mostly grassy trail and graded footpath with short sections of tarmac; about 12 miles can be muddy or slippery when wet. The route is an out-and-back with checkpoints approximately every 5 miles offering water, squash and basic food, including some vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options (cross-contamination cannot be guaranteed). There are toilets, changing rooms, showers and baggage storage at the clubhouse but no toilets on the route. Races are electronically timed with live-results updates; there is no live tracking. Cut-offs are 4 hours at the 15-mile turnaround and 8 hours overall. There is no mandatory kit, but runners must carry a personal cup or vessel for drinks at checkpoints; foldable cups are sold at registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
