Event Overview

The Latitude 29.2 Triathlon is the second annual edition of this multisport event. It takes place at Fort Travis Seashore Park on the Bolivar Peninsula in Port Bolivar, Texas.

Course Details

The course features three distinct segments. The swim takes place in the Gulf of Mexico, with a protected barrier on both sides. The bike segment is on Highway 87 and follows an out-and-back route; the Olympic-distance event requires two loops, while the sprint requires one. The run course goes through a local neighborhood with views of the Gulf, with one loop for the sprint distance and two loops for the Olympic.

Event Types

The event offers numerous categories, including sprint and Olympic distances for individual triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, and various relay team formats. Duathlon events start with a run, followed by bike and run segments.

Participant Information

The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon, requiring a membership from each participant. All athletes receive a finisher medal and, if registered before the order deadline, a shirt. Awards are given for overall, masters, age group, Clydesdale, Athena, and relay categories. The event features chip timing for all splits, including transitions.
