Lakeland Police Foundation Fallen Heroes Memorial 5K

The 10th anniversary Lakeland Police Foundation Fallen Heroes Memorial 5K is a community fundraising event held in Lakeland, Florida, that supports programs for past, present and future members of the Lakeland Police Department. Proceeds fund education grants, financial assistance for members experiencing extreme hardship, care for retired police canines, the Police Explorer Program, and the maintenance of the Fallen Heroes Memorial built to honor seven Lakeland Police fallen officers.

There are both an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K option. Registration opens 12/18/2025 and closes 4/12/2026; the registration fee is $35. Shirts and sizes are guaranteed for preregistrations received before April 20, 2026; after that date shirts are available while supplies last and exchanges are permitted only after the event based on availability.

Early packet pickup is available at the Lakeland Police Department at the Fallen Heroes Memorial entrance on the days before the event between the stated pickup hours. Race-morning packet pickup is available at the YMCA; on-site registration is also available until the stated deadline, with longer lines expected on race morning. Parking will be in the grassy areas on the south side of the YMCA; volunteers will assist in parking. Participants are asked not to park in the YMCA lot or at the neighboring veterinary clinic to avoid towing.

Every participant receives a finisher medal. Placement medals are awarded to the top three finishers in five-year age groups from ten and under through 85 and older, with male and female categories, plus Master, Grand Master, and Overall Champion awards. A special Top Military/Public Safety Award recognizes the top male and female finisher with current or prior service in the U.S. military or public safety professions.
