Event Overview
The Memorial Day 15K - Lakeland is a running event held on May 23, 2026, at Dr. Thomas B. Mack Park on Lake Hollingsworth in Lakeland, Florida. It is part of a multi-distance event that also includes a 5K and a 10K.
Event Details
The event features in-person and virtual participation options. The in-person races start and finish at Thomas B. Mack Park. The course circles Lake Hollingsworth, and since the lake is approximately 5K in distance, the 10K and 15K events require multiple laps.
All finishers receive a commemorative finisher medal. Awards are presented to the top three men and women in traditional five-year age groups for all three race distances, as well as to the top three overall, masters (40+), grand masters (50+), and senior masters (60+).
Active and retired military personnel can participate for free by showing valid military ID at bib pickup. There is also a virtual option where participants can complete their chosen distance on their own and submit their time online.
Logistics
Race day registration and packet pickup open at the race site. Water stations are available approximately every 1.5 miles. A minimum pace of 16 minutes per mile is required. Teams of five or more receive a registration discount.
The event's charity partner for 2026 is the Florida Giant Dog Rescue. All registrations are final with no refunds, deferments, or transfers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
