Lakeland Paws Whinlatter Double Header
The Lakeland Paws Whinlatter Double Header serves as the final event of the Lakeland Paws Season 4. Held at Whinlatter, the event includes the Whinlatter Tails: Seat How routes, which utilize a combination of forest roads and trails. Participants can choose between two fully marked courses provided during the event:
- 8 km (5 miles) route including 360m of ascent and reaching the Seat How summit.
- 5 km (3 miles) route including 240m of ascent that avoids the summit.
The event is designed with individual starts for each athlete to provide sufficient space for those running with dogs. While participants are welcome to compete without dogs, those running with a canine partner are limited to one dog per runner. Dogs must be placed in a suitable harness for the duration of the event; harnesses are available to borrow if required.
The courses feature varied terrain, with some sections being narrower and steeper, particularly on the ascent to Seat How. There are no cut-off times, and participants are permitted to walk the routes. The event is chip timed, and GPX files are provided for navigation. The minimum age for entry is 16 years old. To conclude the season, a prize giving ceremony takes place at the end of this event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
