Event Overview
The Lake Mohegan Women's Trail Race is a women's-only trail running event in Fairfield, CT. The organizer aims to raise awareness of trail running opportunities for women, noting that 30-40% of participants in trail races are typically women. The event is also open to non-binary runners. In 2025, the event had over 130 runners.
Race Details
The event offers three race options:
- 5K
- 10K
- 4 Hour, where participants can run or walk as many miles as possible on a 5K loop within the allotted time.
The races take place at Lake Mohegan, described as having very runnable and varied trails, which serves as a good introduction for new trail runners and a good course for experienced participants.
Race Day Information
On the day of the event, packet pickup and race-day registration open at 7:00 a.m. The 4-hour race starts at 8:00 a.m., and the 5K/10K races start at 8:30 a.m. The cutoff for the 4-hour runners is 12:00 p.m.
A start/finish aid station will provide water and SKRATCH electrolyte drink for 4-hour and 10K runners (before their second loop). There is no on-course aid station for the 5K. The event is a "cupless" race to reduce waste.

Awards and Post-Race
