Lake Mohegan Women's Trail Race
The Lake Mohegan Women’s Trail Race is a women-only event that also welcomes non-binary runners, held at Lake Mohegan in Fairfield, Connecticut (960 Morehouse Hwy, Fairfield, CT 06825). The event uses a runnable 3.2 mile loop that is used in different configurations for each race distance; a GPX file and course map are provided.
Three event options are offered:
- 5K - $30 early; $35 Jan 1–Feb 28; $40 Mar 1–Race Day
- 10K - $45 early; $50 Jan 1–Feb 28; $55 Mar 1–Race Day
- 4 hour timed option on the 5K loop - $60 early; $70 Jan 1–Feb 28; $80 Mar 1–Race Day
Aid provisions include water and an electrolyte drink at the start/finish station for 4 hour runners and for 10K runners before a second loop; there is no on-course aid for 5K participants. The event follows a cupless policy to reduce waste. Race rules require following the marked course, no littering, and non-transferable bibs; use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged for safety.
Finishers receive a specially designed medal and there are awards for the top three in each event. A post-race spread includes bagels, fruit, muffins, pre-packaged snacks, and beverages.
