About the race
The Bethel Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving day 5K road race in Bethel, Connecticut, presented by Ingersoll Auto of Danbury. The event uses town streets around the Bethel Municipal Center at 1 School Street and is organized as a single road loop beginning in downtown Bethel. The loop course repeats the first and last 1/3 mile in reverse. The route is moderately uphill through the first half and predominantly downhill in the second half.
A course map and a downloadable GPX file for the 5K are provided for reference. A portion of event proceeds supports two local nonprofits. Bethel Parks and Recreation provides recreational programs and activities for residents from pre school age through senior citizens. Ability Beyond works to empower people of all abilities to live, work, and participate in community life. Registration opens August 1 and fee tiers are published for early and late registration.
An 18 and under entry rate is specified for youth. The event policy states there are no refunds and race entries or bib numbers are not transferable. Race day provisions include post race refreshments such as bagels, fruit, energy bars, and non alcoholic hydration, plus a raffle with prizes from local businesses. Standard race rules apply including following the marked course, notifying course marshals if withdrawing, and limiting use of personal music devices for safety.
