Bethel Turkey Trot : Bethel, CT
The Bethel Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving day road race held in Bethel, Connecticut, organized by Steep Endurance. The event features a 5K loop course that starts in downtown Bethel and runs through neighborhood streets. The first one third of a mile and the last one third of a mile use the same section of road in opposite directions. The course is moderately uphill in the first half and descends in the second half.
A portion of the event proceeds benefits two local non-profits: Bethel Parks and Recreation and Ability Beyond. Entry fees vary by registration period with early and later pricing tiers; entry fees are nonrefundable and registrations or bib numbers are not transferable.
The event includes awards for overall finishers and age-group categories for both men and women, with standard age brackets from 12 and under up to 70 and over. Post-race provisions include bagels, fruit, energy bars, and non-alcoholic hydration, and a raffle with prizes from local businesses.
Participants are required to follow marked course directions and race rules. Course marshals may remove runners for rule violations. Organizers discourage the use of personal music devices for safety and course awareness. A GPX file and course maps are provided for the 5K route.
