Bethel Turkey Trot - Bethel, CT
The Bethel Turkey Trot is held on Thanksgiving, November 27, in Bethel, Connecticut. Organized by Steep Endurance and presented by Ingersoll Auto of Danbury, the event features a 5K loop course that runs through residential neighborhoods. The course is a loop with the first 1/3 mile and last 1/3 mile the same but in reverse. The route is moderately uphill in the first half and downhill in the second half. The event base is at the Bethel Municipal Center, 1 School St., Bethel, CT 06801.
Logistics, awards, beneficiaries and rules
Registration fees range from $25 to $35 depending on entry date. Packet pickup is available the day before at The Athlete’s Source (Bethel) and on race day at the Municipal Center. T-shirts were offered to registrations by an early cutoff in prior years. A course map is available on Plotaroute.
Awards will be presented to the top three in each age group for both men and women: Overall, 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. A post-race spread includes bagels, fruit, energy bars, non-alcoholic hydration, and a raffle with 40+ prizes.
A portion of proceeds benefits Ability Beyond and Bethel Parks and Recreation. Race policies note no refunds or transfers, mandatory following of the marked course (cutting the course may lead to disqualification), no littering, bibs are not transferable, and the use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged.
