Milford Turkey Trot
The Milford Turkey Trot is an annual charity fun run and walk held in Milford, Connecticut, centered at Fowler Pavilion, 1 Shipyard Lane behind the library. The event is organized as a community fund-raiser; 100 percent of registration fees and website donations go to local charities including Milford Public Schools, Purple Pantry Boxes, and Avery's Little Army for pediatric cancer support.
Routes follow Milford sidewalks and do not require road closures; participants must follow all street laws. The main route is a loop of a little over three miles that passes Gulf Beach and Calf Pen Meadow. Two shorter marked out and back options are available for shorter distances.
Virtual participation is offered so supporters can take part remotely on Thanksgiving Day. Early packet pickup is available on several days before the event; shirts are guaranteed only for participants who register before November 3. Entry fees and donations are non refundable.
The event is volunteer run and seeks volunteers and sponsors to support operations. Safety measures include staged starts by route length and anticipated speed to reduce crowding, no on site registration, hand sanitizer available, and a policy that the event may be altered to a virtual format if required by health authorities. Recent fundraising totals list a cumulative amount of $159,000 with yearly amounts rising from $8,000 in 2021 to $48,000 in 2025. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
