Lake County Suicide Prevention Task Force 14th Annual 5K Walk/Run for Awareness and Suicide Prevention
The event is a 3.1-mile walk/run held on September 26, 2026 at the College of Lake County, 19351 West Washington Street, Grayslake, IL. It is presented by the Lake County Suicide Prevention Task Force as part of ongoing community outreach.
Registration fees include an event t-shirt and access to a resource fair. Fee structure is listed as: $30 for adults, $10 for children ages 5 to 12, and free for children 4 and under. Teams of five or more qualify for a reduced fee structure where the fifth and subsequent team registrations are charged $25 each; the first four team members initially pay the regular fee and receive an adjustment when the team is completed. To guarantee a preferred t-shirt size, registration must be submitted by August 26, 2026. A drive-thru t-shirt pick-up is scheduled prior to the event; shirts will also be available on the event day.
The program includes a welcome and kickoff presented in person and broadcast on Facebook Live, and a resource fair featuring partner organizations and giveaways. The event is described as family friendly, dog friendly with on-leash policy, and will include food trucks.
