11th Annual George Bridges 5K Run/Walk
The Waukegan Park District will host the 11th Annual George Bridges 5K Run/Walk on September 12, 2026 at Hinkston Park, 810 Baldwin Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085. Entry fee is $34. Participants who register before August 25, 2026 will receive a commemorative shirt and a race packet. Registration closes on September 11, 2026.
All proceeds will benefit Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County - Waukegan, which helps individuals with disabilities take part in camps, athletics, health and fitness programs and other activities. A free kids race for children ages 5 to 13 is scheduled to take place before the awards ceremony. Superhero themed activities, including mask and cape decorating, will be offered during the event to encourage participation by younger attendees.
