9/11 Heroes Run - Chicago, Illinois
The 9/11 Heroes Run in South Barrington, Illinois, is scheduled for September 12, 2026 at Community Park, 8 Bridges Dr. The event honors the heroes of 9/11 and recognizes veterans, active duty service members, first responders, and families of the fallen. It aims to activate and unite communities and to support local veterans and families affected by service.
Events include running, rucking, walking, and volunteer opportunities. The rucking division is presented in partnership with GORUCK; rucking is a sport where participants walk or run while carrying a weighted rucksack, based on special forces training. All participants registered in the GORUCK division receive that year’s TMF GORUCK patch.

- 5K Run registration fee $36.00.
- 5K Ruck registration fee $41.00.
- 1 Mile Walk registration fee $21.00. Volunteer registration opens July 8, 2026 and closes September 12, 2026; volunteer participation has no fee.
