Krispy Kreme Challenge
The Krispy Kreme Challenge is a student run, charity based race that supports the mission of the North Carolina Children's Hospital. The event is located in Raleigh NC at 2011 Hillsborough Street, postal code 27607.
The event offers several participation options for individuals and teams. Categories for individuals include Challenger, Casual, and No Doughnut. The Challenger category requires a participant to consume all 12 doughnuts and complete the race in under one hour to claim victory. Only runners registered as Challengers are eligible for winning, and there is no penalty for Challengers who do not complete the challenge. Casual participants may eat as many or as few doughnuts as they wish. No Doughnut participants receive a different bib so volunteers will not provide doughnuts.
Team categories mirror the individual options. Challenger Teams compete to average the lowest team time and must include six runners to be eligible for awards. Casual Teams may be any size and can participate in competitions leading up to the race. No Doughnut Teams follow the Casual Team format but without doughnuts on race day.
Regardless of category, all runners pay the same registration fee, start at the same time, and receive a race t shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
